JOHN GILLAN ARCHITECTURAL PHOTOGRAPHY

John Gillan has devoted his professional life to this work, instilling awe and inspiration, animating the photo into vital reflections of our journey. His work has graced boardrooms and museums and have been treasured as family heirlooms for 30 years. His work enhances the enduring nature, his subject matter, keeping it alive and serving to inspire for tomorrow.

John Gillan is widely known for his outstanding achievements and unique vision as a professional architectural and interior photographer. His assignments range from lush resorts, residential and hospitality properties to aviation, healthcare and educational facilities. Gillan is also equipped to photograph construction documentation and all aspects of the building process. His work is used for award packages, project sheets, websites, trade show displays, brochures and print advertising.

John Gillan offers the highest in professionalism, and is dedicated to enhancing and preserving the moment. No shot is out of reach, no angle unattainable.

Buildings are monuments to our entrepreneurial existence, the creation of these structures from drawings, to the installation of the first girder, to the sun glistening off its polished steel and glass, harkens back to our pyramid builders.

Gillan is the two time recipient of the American Institute of Architects Architectural Photographer of the Year Award and several Addy awards. Gillan created the photography for the award winning book and exhibit, Places In Time Historic Architecture and Landscapes of Miami and the Historic Ted Smallwood Store Old Indian Trading Post Traveling Exhibit. Both feature the architecture of these special south Florida places and convey a message about Florida's heritage and the importance of historic preservation.

In 1989, Gillan received a grant from the Florida Humanities Council which funded a two year, nine museum tour and lecture series of the Historic Ted Smallwood Store Old Indian Trading Post.

Since 1986, John Gillan is president of south Florida based John Gillan Photography, Inc. and creates images of architecture, interiors, resorts, landscapes and people on location for advertising , annual reports and publication.

From concept to creation, no matter what the subject - be it architecture, interiors, corporate identity, advertising, pristine landscapes, people or historic, John Gillan takes great care in communicating his vision to create unforgettable impressions.
